JomSocial Content Likes

JomSocial Content Likes makes possible to revamp the JomSocial community site with LIKE/UNLIKE mechanism ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Component derived from http://www.socialcode.co.uk/products/jomsocial-products/item/article-likes.html product but it is expanded with:

1. more supported content (K2, QuickFAQ, DocMan...)
2. possibility for GUESTS to say LIKE
3. in 'user also likes' section it show NUMBER of guests also likes feature

 

 

Component comes with 2 plugins:

1. Content Likes - to show LIKE/DISLIKE and others also likes for registered user for ANY content from Joomla (triggered by OnPrepareContent method)
   currently supported K2, QuickFAQ, DocMan and of course Joomla content

1. Community Likes - JomSocial application to show on profile contents which you liked (work with ALL jomsocial versions but you cannot change parameters in the JomSocial 2.0)

 

 

 

 

Further development rely on community donations and paid support.

So please consider making small donation or simple pay $5 for 1 month support or $20 for 12 months support. In that time all further modifications of the component is available for download.

 

INSTALATION

Just install complete component as it is and then enable the plugins in the manager.

UPGRADE

If you already used Article Likes and you do not want to loose any likes from your users all you need to do is uninstall it first (after uninstalling #__likes table in the database still exist with the data) and then install Content Likes component.

• expanded the table with 2 fields: component for storing name of component of the content, cnt for counting the guests likes
• changed the primary key to consist of (contentid, userid, component) for keeping just one record for quests
• added 3 methods to retrieve proper URL's from K2, QuickFAQ, DocMan components for showing in the JomSocial profile
• changed the logic for showing LIKE/UNLIKE to guests also
